Michiko Lindsey, C.A.B. Chair
Michiko Lindsey was most recently head of the corporate and securities group at Catalyst Law Group. She graduated summa cum laude from San Diego State University in 1996 and from Harvard Law School in 1999. She is a single mother with a 4-year-old daughter. Michiko was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2003 and suffered from post-partum psychosis after the birth of her daughter during the period of time she was unmedicated due to her pregnancy and breastfeeding. Michiko’s younger brother committed suicide in 2005 after being misdiagnosed with unipolar depression when he was actually bipolar. Michiko is very active in her role as the chair of IBPF’s Consumer Advisory Board. She facilitates a number of support groups in the San Diego area, including a group for bipolar parents and a group for bipolar professionals.
Michiko volunteers with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program’s Domestic Violence Restraining Order Clinic and also offers her services as an attorney in other areas on a pro bono (unpaid) basis. Michiko is a member of the statewide board of governors and the San Diego advisory committee of VIP Mentors, Inc., a mentoring program for attorney mentors and parolee mentees. Michiko is active in her church, teaching Sunday school and serving as the librarian of the children’s library and as a member of the religious education committee.
